Michelle Vázquez Cortés

Michelle is the supervisor of our Naturalization team at Catholic Migration Services. She is a native New Yorker born to Mexican immigrants. For a big part of her childhood, she experienced the difficulties of living in a mixed-status household; this pushed her to want to help the immigrant community and take her career down a path that permits her to help.

In 2017, Michelle graduated from St. Francis College with a B.S. in Criminal Justice and minors in English and Forensic Science. Her experience with the criminal justice system while at St. Francis College opened her eyes to the injustice that exists, especially within the immigrant community.

Michelle has held various roles at Catholic Migration Services, starting off as an intern with our Workers’ rights team, then becoming an Administrative Assistant, and an Immigration Counselor before becoming the Naturalization Supervisor.

Michelle is a DOJ accredited representative and is fluent in Spanish.
