Jonathan Gaffney
Jonathan Gaffney graduated from Syracuse University in 2014 with a degree in Communication and Rhetorical Studies.
Since then, he has worked in public-interest nonprofits as a community organizer, working alongside people with developmental disabilities, CUNY students, tenants, and homeless New Yorkers. Throughout his career, Jonathan has helped bring people together to win meaningful policy changes and develop new community leaders. He believes that strong communities of care, solidarity, and mutual support are the building blocks of lasting social change.
At Catholic Migration Services, Jonathan works as a Supervising Tenant Organizer, supporting tenants across Queens as they organize collectively to improve their housing conditions and build power in their communities.
Jonathan lives in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where he enjoys playing volleyball until the sun goes down.
