Magdalena Barbosa

Prior to serving as Director of Legal Services, Magdalena was the Managing Attorney for Catholic Migration’s Workers’ Rights Program from 2016 through 2021. Since her graduation from Rutgers-Newark law school in 2007, Magdalena has advocated on behalf of low-wage and immigrant workers. Prior to joining Catholic Migration Services, Magdalena worked as an attorney at Gladstein, Reif & Meginniss, Make the Road New York, MFY Legal Services, and Legal Services of New Jersey. Through her career she has handled and managed a wide array of wage and hour, discrimination, and unemployment matters in state and federal courts and in various administrative venues. She graduated from Davidson College prior to attending law school.Magdalena is admitted to practice law in New York, New Jersey, the District Courts of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District Court of New Jersey. She is a member of the board of the New York chapter of the National Employment Lawyers Association.
