On Sunday July 14, CMS staff travelled to St. Rose of Lima parish in Far Rockaway to provide immigation, employment and housing legal consultations for individuals and families affected by Superstorm Sandy. In coordination with Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens, Faith in NY and Fidelis, our staff set up an all-day information and services centre in the parish auditorium. This event was made possible in part by funding from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.

Catholic Migration Services is teaming up with Centro Hispano Cuzcatlan once again to assist El Salvadoran immigrants with re-registering their Temporary Protected Status (TPS), now through July 25.

Catholic Migration Services is pleased to announce that it will reopen intake for removal and deportation defense proceedings in our Queens office in May 2013, with an intake day scheduled for Tuesday, May 28. The Removal Defense Project was reopened in our Brooklyn office in January 2013, coinciding with a successful re-structuring of the organization and the receipt of additional funding for our critical legal services.
