On Sunday March 16th, Staff Attorney Kenny Minaya presented parishioners at St. Patrick’s Church in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn with information on the Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption (SCRIE) Program. 100 people were in attendance as he covered the requirements and the benefits of SCRIE. SCRIE is a program for tenants who are at least 62 years old and who have a total annual household income of   $29,000 or less and pay more than one-third of the household’s total monthly income for rent. After the presentation, Kenny met with people who had questions about SCRIE. He answered questions and provided them with the documents that they would need to apply for SCRIE. Parishioners were encouraged to contact CMS if they wanted assistance with their applications and had further questions about SCRIE.

For more information about SCRIE call 1-347-472-3500 and ask for an appointment with the housing attorney Kenny Minaya.
