On Wednesday, November 26, 2014 CMS held the Queens Tenant Monthly Meeting at St. Sebastian Parish Center in Woodside. We invited several organizations including Catholic Charities, JASA, and the Queens Library to provide attendees with information on their services.
Cesar Reyes from Woodside on the Move discussed the new Hunter’s Point South Affordable Housing development and the application process for prospective tenants. We also had Max Luna from Fidelis Care present on the benefits under the Affordable Care Act and the Open Enrollment Period. For coverage beginning in 2015, the Open Enrollment Period is November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015. Mr. Luna also discussed the services, products, and accessibility that Fidelis Care provides.
CMS staff Attorney Mariam Magar was available to discuss our Immigrant Tenant Advocacy Program. CMS staff member Zachary Shultz from our Citizenship and Integration Program was promoting CMS’ Citizenship Application Assistance Workshop, December 6th, 2014 at Our Lady of the Angelus Church in Rego Park from 11:30 to 5:30.
