U.S. Senator Charles Schumer discusses the importance of immigration reform at the Migration Day Mass in Brooklyn
On Sunday afternoon, hundreds of people gathered at St. James Cathedral-Basilica in downtown Brooklyn for the Diocese of Brooklyn’s annual Migration Day Mass. Catholic Migration Services, which coordinates the Diocese’s Ethnic Apostolates, helped organize the Mass and the cultural celebration that followed.

On Friday, Catholic Migration Services hosted its first naturalization workshop using CitizenshipWorks, a multilingual online platform that guides aspiring citizens through the application process. The event was co-sponsored by the NALEO Educational Fund, Immigration Advocates Network, CUNY Citizenship Now!, Pro Bono Net, and the International Rescue Committee at the central branch of the Brooklyn Public Library.
